J C Leyendecker was an influential American Illustrator that lived from 1874 – 1951. He is best known for his works Saturday Evening Post & the creation of “The Arrow Collar Man”. According to wikipedia, Leyendecker is believed to be homosexual as he has never been married and lived with another man all his life. His long time partner, Charles Beach who is assumed “The Arrow Collar man” was based on.
